He married Elizabeth Gilbert. Elizabeth was born 1701 in Hingham, Plymouth, MA. Elizabeth was the daughter of Nathaniel Gilbert and Judith. Elizabeth died 21 January 1765 in Hingham, Plymouth, MA, at 63 years of age.

Jeremiah Hersey and Elizabeth Gilbert had the following children:

1862 i. Elizabeth¹⁰ Hersey was born in Hingham, Plymouth, MA 21 September 1727.

+ 1195 ii. Hannah Hersey was born 8 March 1728/1729.

1863 iii. Rebecca Hersey was born in Hingham, Plymouth, MA 19 December 1730. Rebecca died 17 December 1799 at 68 years of age. Died unmarried

1864 iv. John Hersey was born in Hingham, Plymouth, MA 18 August 1732.

1865 v. Abigail Hersey was born in Hingham, Plymouth, MA 21 August 1734. Abigail died 12 February 1751/1752 at 17 years of age.

1866 vi. Zerubbabel Hersey was born in Hingham, Plymouth, MA April 1737.

1867 vii. Abijah Hersey was born in Hingham, Plymouth, MA 20 March 1738/1739.

1868 viii. Jeremiah Hersey was born in Hingham, Plymouth, MA 18 October 1741.

1869 ix. Hitte Hersey was born in Hingham, Plymouth, MA 5 March 1744/1745. Hitte died 28 April 1751 in Hingham, Plymouth, MA, at 6 years of age.

1870 x. Gilbert Hersey was born in Hingham, Plymouth, MA 29 March 1747.
