3927. Andrew13 Messenger (Andrew14) was born in England, probably before 1618 as he was at least 21 years of age when he signed the New Haven Fundamental Agreement. Andrew died before 12 Apr 1681 in Jamaica, Long Island, NY.

He married Rachel _________ about 1641. Rachel died in Jamaica, Long Island, NY after 1688, when "Widow Messanger" was listed as remembering no marriages, chistenings or burials in her family during the last seven years.("Return of marriages, Christenins [sic] & Burials in the Town of Jamaica for 7 years preceding 1688", The Documentary History of the State of New York by E.B. O.Callaghan, ed., vol 4 (Albany, N.Y.: Weed, Parsons and Co., 1849-1851), 3:197.)

child 3928 i. Samuel12 Messenger was born about 1642. Samuel died 1685/6. He married Susanna _________ 20 April 1669.

child 3929 ii. Abigail Messenger was born about 1644. Abigail died in Jamaica, Long Island, NY. She married twice. She married Richard Darling of New Haven in 1662. They were divorced 7 July 1674. (From Hickok [Note 8], 386; Fernow, New York Colonial Manuscripts, 2:729-30.) She married Zachariah Mills in Jamaica, Queens, New York between 1 Sep 1674 and 10 Jun 1686. He was the son of George Mills of Jamaica..

child + 2466 iii. Mary Messenger was born 1646.

child 3930 iv. Sarah Messenger was born about 1648. Sarah died after 1684 in Greenwich, Fairfield, CT. She married Ephraim Palmer of Greenwich 1668 in Jamaica, Queens, NY. Ephraim probably died at Stratford, CT as the probate file for an Ephraim Palmer of Stratford contains an inventory saying he died 19 Apr 1684 leaving a widow Sarah, seven children, and land. (Fairfield District Probate File 4802) She married John Gregory before 15 Oct 1699. John was born 1638-1640 and died ca. 1720.

child 3931 v. Andrew Messenger was born  about 1651. Andrew died 1730 at 80 years of age in Norwalk, CT. He married Rebecca (Pickett) St. John in 1675 at Norwalk, CT.  She died 9 May 1684. He married Rachel Hayes. Andrew's will dated 19 Aug 1727 and proved 9 Nov 1730 mentioned, besides his wife Rachel. "Cousin [actually his nephew] Zachariah Mills, Sr., of Bedford in Westchester... my loving cousins Sam' Messenger, son of Mr. John Messanger of Jamaica and Nehemiah Messanger, 2nd son of Mr. Daniel Messanger of Hartford." They were to pay 20 pounds to Abigail Messanger, younger sister to Samuel. He also gave John Bartlett and Thomas Fitch Jun. of Norwalk two shillings each. Witnesses were John Brown, Francis Barlow and Abraham Smith. Rachel's will dated 17 Apr 1738 and proved 1 Sep 1740 named, among others, her brothers Samuel and John Hays.
