2683. Henry¹² Wood (John (Johannes)¹³ , Nicholas¹⁴ Atwood) was born in Of London, England 1594. Henry died 30 September 1670 in Middleboro, Plymouth, MA, at 76 years of age.

He married twice. He married an unknown person. He married Abigail Jenny 28 April 1644 in Plymouth, Plymouth, MA. Abigail was born 16 April 1619 in Leyden, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands. Abigail was the daughter of John Jenney and Sarah Carey. Abigail died 1690 in Plymouth, Plymouth, MA, at 71 years of age. Henry sailed from Leyden, Holland in company with John Jenny and family. They arrived at Plymouth in the Bark "James", 44 tons, together with the "Ann", brig of 140 tons. Henry was in Plymouth as early as September 16, 1643, when he bought a house and land from John Dunham for 7 pounds. He removed to Yarmouth where his first two children were born. In 1649, he returned to Plymouth. In 1665, he settled at Middleborough. He was not among the twenty-six original purchasers, but received the share set out for John Shaw, and part of that original homestead is still in the possession of his descendants. He was admitted a freeman of Plymouth Colony in 1648; was grand juror 1648-56-59-68 and often on other juries. His son Samuel and son-in-law John Nelson were appointed administrators of his estate, October 29, 1670. On March 4, 1673, four of his children, with his wife Abigail, were summoned into court to dispose of lands that they might contribute to the support of the widow Abigail.

2684 i. Sarah¹¹ Wood was born in Yarmouth, Barns., MA 1644/1645. Sarah died 4 March 1675/1676 in Sandwich, MA, at 30 years of age. She married twice. She married John Nelson 28 November 1667 in Middleboro, Plymouth, MA. She married John Nelson 28 November 1667 in Middleboro, Plymouth, MA.

2685 ii. Samuel Wood was born in Yarmouth, Barnstable, MA 25 May 1647. Samuel died 10 February 1718 in Middleboro, Plymouth, MA, at 70 years of age. He married three times. He married an unknown person before 1 June 1675 in Middleboro, Massachusetts. He married an unknown person before 1679. He married Rebecca Tupper Before 1679. Rebecca was born About 1647. Rebecca died 10 February 1718 in Middleboro, Plymouth, MA, at 70 years of age. Samuel probably moved from Plymouth to Middleboro as a young man with his father, and lived with him as one of the first settlers of the town. He was a surveyor of highways in Middleboro in 1673, and held the office of constable in 1682 and selectman in 1684 and 1689 and at different times for fifteen years, and was one of the original members at the organization of the First Church, December 26, 1694. Upon the death of his father an agreement was made between him, his brother, and mother that he should have thirteen acres of upland, this being the place where his father had lived, and a portion of the Tisequin purchase known as Wood's purchase. 2686 iii. Jonathan Wood was born in Plymouth, Plymouth, MA 1 January 1650. Jonathan died 1675 in Middleboro, Plymouth, MA, at 25 years of age. His body was interred 22 February 1675. Jonathan always lived at Middleboro, but his name is sometimes confounded with Jonathan Wood, alais Atwood, of Plymouth. The Jonathan Wood of the Sixteen Shilling Purchase was undoubtedly the son of Henry, and not the Jonathan Wood of Plymouth. He made a noncupative will in April, 1673, and two or three days after, he gave the town right of way through his land. (History of the Town of Middleboro; Thomas Weston, 1906)

2687 v. Joseph Wood (Twin) was born in Plymouth, Plymouth, MA 23 July 1653. Joseph died 12 February 1697/1698 in Middleborough, Plymouth, MA, at 44 years of age. He married twice. He married Hester Walker 1 January 1679/1680 in Taunton, Bristol County, Massachusetts. He married Abigail Paul 2 October 1697. Upon Josephs death, his son Josiah was given to Daniel Vaughan and wife to adopt as their child. He was one of the proprietors of the Sixteen Shilling Purchase, and always lived at Middleboro.(History of the Town of Middleboro; Thomas Weston, 1906)

2689 vii. Abigail Wood was born in Middleboro, Plymouth, MA 1655. Abigail died 10 October 1719 in Middleboro, Plymouth, MA, at 64 years of age. She married twice. She married David Thomas. She married Abiah Bowen 10 December 1685.

2690 viii. Benjamin Wood was born in Middleboro, Plymouth, MA 23 July 1655. Benjamin died 1694 in Middleborough, Plymouth, MA, at 38 years of age.

2691 ix. Mary Wood was born in Middleboro, Plymouth, MA about 1657. She married Joseph Deane 1697.

2692 x. Abiel Wood was born in Middleboro, Plymouth, MA 1658/1659. Abiel died in Middleboro, Plymouth, MA. His body was interred 10 October 1719. He married twice. He married Abiah Brown 1683. He married Abijah (Or Abiah) Bowen 10 December 1683 in Middleboro, Plymouth, MA.

2693 xi. James Wood was born in Middleboro, Plymouth, MA 1660. James died 24 December 1728 in Middleborough, Plymouth, MA, at 68 years of age. He married Experience Fuller 12 April 1693 in Middleboro, Plymouth, MA.

2694 xii. Susanna Wood was born in Middleboro, Plymouth, MA about 1661. She married twice. She married Thomas Clark. She married Hosiah (Josiah) Morton 8 March 1686.

2695 xiii. John Wood was born in Middleborough, Plymouth, MA about 1662. John died April 1673 in Middleborough, Plymouth, MA, at 10 years of age. His body was interred April 1673 in Middleborough, Plymouth, MA.
