He married Dolly S. Gile 3 April 1839 in Conway, Carroll, NH. Dolly was born 11 August 1819 in Bethlehem, Grafton, NH. Dolly was the daughter of Nathaniel Gile and Lydia Hall.

John Chase and Dolly S. Gile had the following children:

287 i. Hattie Atwood⁶ Chase was born in Conway, Carroll, NH 24 February 1840. She married Hezekiah M. Lapham. Hezekiah was born about 1840.

288 ii. Phebe Chase was born in Paris, Oxford, ME 15 September 1844. She married Aaron Edes. Aaron was born about 1840 in of, Canton, ME.

+ 149 iii. Charlotte Elizabeth Chase was born 7 May 1847.

289 iv. Mary Gile Chase was born in Paris, Oxford, ME 3 April 1849. She married William Bradbury. William was born about 1847.

290 v. Dolly Jane Chase was born in Paris, Oxford, ME 22 May 1851. She married Henry C. Hammond 1873 in ME. Henry was born about 1850.

291 vi. Laura Ellen Chase was born in Paris, Oxford, ME 6 April 1854. She married George Otis Chase 1873 in ME. George was born about 1853.

292 vii. John Chase was born in Paris, Oxford, ME 2 May 1858. He married Edna Field. Edna was born about 1858.

293 viii. Clara Anna Chase was born in Paris, Oxford, ME 1862. She married Charles Kimball. Charles was born about 1860.
